Sean P. Jackson was part of a South Florida delegation that traveled to Washington, D.C. in September 2015 for the Black Leadership Team Conference, a gathering focused on Republican outreach to Black voters ahead of the 2016 election.
The Miami Times reported that Jackson attended in his role as Chairman of the Board of the Black Republican Caucus of South Florida. Other South Florida participants included Palm Beach County Republican Chairman Michael Barnett and former Florida Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll.
According to the report, the conference brought together Black Republican and conservative leaders from several battleground states to discuss how the party could expand engagement beyond its traditional base. The meeting included national Republican figures and conversations about outreach in communities where the party historically had limited presence.
Jackson’s participation is one of the earlier independently documented examples of the outreach work that later became associated with the statewide Black Republican Caucus of Florida.
